Keller Williams Southpark Outperforms the Charlotte MLS

…it really is that simple!

On the Move Charlotte’s home office, Keller Williams Southpark, has put together some startling statistics from May 2013 to May 2014. The stats really highlight some of the ways in which our (admittedly awesome!) KW office vastly outperforms the general Charlotte real estate market. Here are a few examples:

  • In May 2014 the Charlotte MLS sold 19.5% fewer listing units than they did in May 2013.
  • During that same period, the Keller Williams Southpark office sold over 41% more listing units than they had in May 2013.
  • That’s a difference of 60.8% between the CMLS and KW Southpark.


  • During May 2014, the CMLS took nearly 2% fewer listings than they did during the same period in 2013.
  • Keller Williams Southpark took over 56% more listings in May 2014 than they did in May 2013.

So, what is this data saying? It’s telling us that as a whole, the Charlotte real estate market has slowed down slightly between 2013-2014. On the other hand, our fabulous Keller Williams office has outperformed on nearly every metric: listings, closings, written listings, etc. We’re not slowing down anytime soon!

Another Great “Keller Williams Family Reunion” Trip in the Books!

What a whirlwind!

We (Leigh and Michelle) just got back from another successful trip to Keller Williams’ annual “Family Reunion” event, this year held in Phoenix, AZ. Every year the sessions and events get better and better and this year it was sold out early with over 10,000 thousand associates in attendance. It’s always fun to see old friends from around the country and we always learn lots of new things we can bring back to our own clients in Charlotte.


Here’s a quick rundown of the week’s highlights to catch you up!

We learned that:

  • In 2013, Keller Williams added 15,000 associates. That’s astounding!
  • Sales volume was up over 30% last year within KW – to $158 billion!
  • There were KW reps from 24 countries in attendance and a new Dubai office was announced
  • In 2013, KW Cares gave associates and their families over $2.5 million in assistance, helping with everything from health-related costs to natural disasters.


Gary KellerWe sat in on a variety of classes and sessions designed to shore-up our industry skills. There were tons of interesting topics covered (we loved the tips on maximizing online exposure) and classes were either buyer- or listing-focused. We learned some W.O.W. customer service tips to keep our clients smiling and great thoughts on creating listings that stand out in a crowd. We’re really, really excited to implement everything we’ve learned and hit the ground running this spring with renewed focus and energy!

As Gary Keller says, “The most entrepreneurial people often first show up as troublemakers.”


One of our favorite things about working at KW is the company’s dedication to giving back.

This year’s event ended with an “Inspirational Brunch” featuring several amazing people:

“[KW] welcomed brothers Titus and Tobias Bass, accompanied by their mother Contessa. 11-year-old Tobias has made it his mission to push, pull and swim his older brother, who was born with Cerebral Palsy, through an Ironman Competition. We were all so moved by this young boy’s drive and determination, many made donations on site to Tobias’ cause to help him purchase the equipment needed for this race as well as potentially start a college fund for the bright young man.”

Also included were appearances by Gerry Nicks, a CA KW associate who’s KW training helped his paralyzed daughter afford life-changing treatment, and Tim Harris, owner of “Tim’s Place” restaurant and sufferer of down syndrome. It was truly an uplifting morning!


All in all it was an amazing, exhausting, exhilarating few days but we’re glad to be home to our families and our Charlotte clients. That being said, we’re already counting down the days until next year’s Family Reunion in Orlando!

Keller Willams South Park Gives Back on RED Day

RED Day is one of the biggest events of the year at Keller Williams’ offices across the country. Though all KW offices make a year-round commitment to helping their communities, RED Day is special in that all Keller Williams offices make an active, visible difference in their cities!

RED stands for “Renew,” “Energize,” and “Donate” – the core tenets of the KW philanthropic philosophy. RED Day is always celebrated on May 9th, the birthday of Keller Williams’ Vice Chairman of the board Mo Anderson, herself a dedicated philanthropist. Each office will be helping in a different way this May 9th, but Keller Williams South Park has once again chosen to donate their services to A Child’s Place, a local Charlotte organization.

A Child’s Place, founded in 1989, works to ensure homeless children in Charlotte receive the support they need to stay in school and complete their education. The national graduation rate for homeless youth is less than 25%. A Child’s Place Charlotte provides everything from tutoring to meal assistance to educational summer camp programs to keep Charlotte’s nearly 5,000 homeless kids in school.

The On the Move Charlotte team along with all all the staff at Keller Williams South Park will spend Thursday, May 9th putting together snack packs for the kids at A Child’s Place along with fun summer crafts the children can do at home.

Long overdue, it’s time to formally welcome Michelle Duyck to the On The Move Charlotte team!

Michelle has years of mortgage experience and a keen eye for negotiation. She works primarily with buyers and loves helping Charlotte residents and transplants alike find a first home, a family house, or even an appropriate downsize. Although she’s an active Buyer’s Agent, Michelle also works with sellers and has full knowledge of the Listing Agreement. She recently completed her accreditation through Keller Williams’ Bold training program as well as Ignite.
